It's official, Shadow is gone.
It is official. Dalen took Shadow- our lab/healer mix- to the animal shelter on Monday. It was a sad day for our family. She was a beautiful dog, but she needs more attention that we are able to give her right now. I was at a work interview/information meeting for the post office and when I got back she was gone. The kids are a little sad, but Dalen talked to them and told them that she is going to be taken care of there, and hopefully a new family will adopt her. It is sad to look in the backyard and see it empty, but I have to admit that I am grateful that there won't be messes from her back there anymore. I love looking out at the yard during the spring and summer when my grass has just been cut, the garden is growing and there aren't torn up toys and boxes everywhere. After this experience Dalen even admitted that dogs take a lot more work than he remembers. As a kid he didn't have all of the other responsibilities that he has now. It was easier back then to spend hours on end in the yard with the dogs. Now he has a job, a calling, a family, and a house to help take care of. Not as much time as he (and I) are willing to give. So, we are praying that a nice family takes her and loves her like she needs.
That's My Boy!

Here are my men.

I also had to show you all this one.

Lastly, here is one of the most hilarious videos I have taken of my son. At dinner one night Jacob was playing with his cup and somehow sent milk flying everywhere (and I do mean everywhere). There was milk on his head, on the table and floor and he even got some on the blinds behind him. All Dalen and I could do was laugh. Honestly, no reason to get mad, the kid was already covered in milk. Isn't that punishment enough? So I started laughing, and he started crying, which made me laugh even harder. As we have all heard, "There's no reason to cry over spilt milk." Heehee!

My Little Bits of CUTENESS!

Another favorite of hers is to get a pair of Malia's tights (yes, they are WAY TOO SMALL) and she puts on an undershirt or pajama top to go with it. That completes the outfit. Mighty funny!

Goodbye to Shadow

We are having to take Shadow to the shelter this week. She is just having too hard of a time adjusting to kids. The kids are too scared of her because she is so big and we think our kids are more important than a dog. We are still keeping the idea later on that we would like a dog, but we are definitely going to go with a smaller dog. The kid are really having a hard time with this, but Dalen and I think it is for the best. We gave it a shot and it didn't work out this time. She has been lonely and starved for attention, so we are giving her up, hopefully to be adopted by a family that can love her and give her the attention she really needs.

Happy St. Patrick's Day
Just thought we would wish all friends and family a happy St. Patty's Day. We are having a hard time with Malia this week. She is breaking in 4 teeth- at the same time. One has actually made it through, FINALLY! We can see that there are 3 others that are trying really hard to cut through the gums. I tried to take a picture of her mouth, but she would have none of that!
The kids are having fun with each other now that the weather is improving. We are looking forward to having a garden, time outside, picnics, and walks together. Anyone else getting excited for spring?

Dalen is Gone...AGAIN!
Dalen is off in Idaho, again this week. He will be in Boise until Friday. The kids definitely know when Daddy is not going to be home at night. And, without fail, the kids start feeling sick as soon as he leaves. I don't sleep so well, when I do get the chance to sleep. Pray for me that this week will go by quickly.

Kylie's Homework
Kylie has started having special reading help at school, which adds to her homework load. She is doing really well and loves to have the one on one attention. I have to help her each night get each assignment done. Here is a video of her working on her homework. I love the tongue- watch and you'll understand!
