It is official. Dalen took Shadow- our lab/healer mix- to the animal shelter on Monday. It was a sad day for our family. She was a beautiful dog, but she needs more attention that we are able to give her right now. I was at a work interview/information meeting for the post office and when I got back she was gone. The kids are a little sad, but Dalen talked to them and told them that she is going to be taken care of there, and hopefully a new family will adopt her. It is sad to look in the backyard and see it empty, but I have to admit that I am grateful that there won't be messes from her back there anymore. I love looking out at the yard during the spring and summer when my grass has just been cut, the garden is growing and there aren't torn up toys and boxes everywhere. After this experience Dalen even admitted that dogs take a lot more work than he remembers. As a kid he didn't have all of the other responsibilities that he has now. It was easier back then to spend hours on end in the yard with the dogs. Now he has a job, a calling, a family, and a house to help take care of. Not as much time as he (and I) are willing to give. So, we are praying that a nice family takes her and loves her like she needs.

Jacob's Favorite thing to do is play his Lego's Star Wars game on the computer. I finally had to put a log in password so he can't sneak in and play at all hours of the day and night. However, if I forget to log out I can be sure that he is in the office.
Here are my men. I absolutely love this picture of Jacob with his dad. They are doing the "Superman" pose. Don't they look handsome?! I think I am a pretty lucky lady to be accompanied to church by these good-looking guys!
I also had to show you all this one. One day I was working on the computer. Jacob came in, wanting to play his game. I made him wait a little too long, I guess. He lost energy just sitting there, and he fell asleep on the floor. When I was done I woke him up to let him play (mostly because he had been asleep for more than an hour and he needed to get up). He stood up and so I left the room. Not to long later I walked down the hallway and looked in- he hadn't even been able to get all the way on the chair before he fell asleep again. It was too funny, I just had to snap a picture.
Lastly, here is one of the most hilarious videos I have taken of my son. At dinner one night Jacob was playing with his cup and somehow sent milk flying everywhere (and I do mean everywhere). There was milk on his head, on the table and floor and he even got some on the blinds behind him. All Dalen and I could do was laugh. Honestly, no reason to get mad, the kid was already covered in milk. Isn't that punishment enough? So I started laughing, and he started crying, which made me laugh even harder. As we have all heard, "There's no reason to cry over spilt milk." Heehee!

Okay, so I was just looking through all of my pictures and found... "The Many faces of Britin." She is a hoot. I sure love looking at these. These pictures span over the last 6 months. What a joy. She changes clothes at least 2 times a day. It is currently 4:23pm on March 21st and she is already on outfit #4. Her favorite outfits are skirts and dresses. With the skirts she thinks that a shirt is optional- contrary to what her mom and dad have told her.
Another favorite of hers is to get a pair of Malia's tights (yes, they are WAY TOO SMALL) and she puts on an undershirt or pajama top to go with it. That completes the outfit. Mighty funny!
Just to look at her beautiful smile makes me happy. I have to say I am a pretty lucky mom to have this girl. Even through all of the mischief I wonder what life would be like without her- definitely boring. She is a devil with an angel's smile, and she knows it. She can get away with just about anything because she knows how to work us.
One funny thing about her hair- besides the many self-inflicted haircuts and stylings given by her brother, she hates to have her hair done. She loves dresses, frilly things, and princesses, but when it comes to her own hair, she hates to have it up. She thinks it looks gorgeous when it is WILD... just check out this picture. <-- Lastly, her new nickname is "Jinger Bell." It is a mixture of Tinker Bell and Jingle Bells. Don't you dare try to call her Tinker Bell- that is wrong (even though that is who she is referring to). She sings the Jingle Bells to her Jinger Bell nickname. She will always be my Bits, though!

We are having to take Shadow to the shelter this week. She is just having too hard of a time adjusting to kids. The kids are too scared of her because she is so big and we think our kids are more important than a dog. We are still keeping the idea later on that we would like a dog, but we are definitely going to go with a smaller dog. The kid are really having a hard time with this, but Dalen and I think it is for the best. We gave it a shot and it didn't work out this time. She has been lonely and starved for attention, so we are giving her up, hopefully to be adopted by a family that can love her and give her the attention she really needs.

Just thought we would wish all friends and family a happy St. Patty's Day. We are having a hard time with Malia this week. She is breaking in 4 teeth- at the same time. One has actually made it through, FINALLY! We can see that there are 3 others that are trying really hard to cut through the gums. I tried to take a picture of her mouth, but she would have none of that!
The kids are having fun with each other now that the weather is improving. We are looking forward to having a garden, time outside, picnics, and walks together. Anyone else getting excited for spring?

Dalen is off in Idaho, again this week. He will be in Boise until Friday. The kids definitely know when Daddy is not going to be home at night. And, without fail, the kids start feeling sick as soon as he leaves. I don't sleep so well, when I do get the chance to sleep. Pray for me that this week will go by quickly.

Kylie has started having special reading help at school, which adds to her homework load. She is doing really well and loves to have the one on one attention. I have to help her each night get each assignment done. Here is a video of her working on her homework. I love the tongue- watch and you'll understand!
